GovTech message is not a scam, update your TraceTogether app before July 31

Some of you may have recently received this message about your TraceTogether app.

Now if this sets off alarm bells, then you are an appropriately cautious and wary individual who is aware of potential scams masquerading as government messages.

But this appears to be genuine. How can you tell?

A genuine message with a link to a genuine government site will include the "go.gov.sg" prefix.

I tried it out myself. If you click on the link, you'll see this reminder:

And you'll be directed to the app store (I'm using an iPhone):

I've updated my app past the 2.0 version, so I'm good.

A quick check of the official GovTech website also shows the same reminder:

GovTech also confirms on July 18 that the message's authenticity.
