Man, 46, found dead with multiple wounds at Blk 326A Sumang, Punggol

A 43-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in the murder of a 46-year-old man.

According to a police news release, the police were alerted to a stabbing case at a residential unit along Sumang Walk in Punggol at around 3pm on Wednesday (Jul. 14).

Lianhe Zaobao reported that the incident took place at Block 326A Sumang Walk.

A resident in the same block reportedly told Zaobao that she had heard a dispute from the residential unit around 2pm, but had thought it was an ordinary quarrel so didn't think much of it.

Police said that upon arriving at the scene, officers found a man lying motionless outside of the residential unit.

The man, who was found with multiple wounds, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said that preliminary investigations revealed that both men are known to each other.

The 43-year-old man will be charged in court on Friday (Jul. 16) with murder under Section 302(1) of the Penal Code.

The offence of murder carries the death penalty.

Police investigations are ongoing.
