A Singaporean professional wrestler has made it all the way to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), the biggest promotion in the world.

Formerly known as the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), it has seen champions and superstars like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and Otis compete in the squared circle.

And now, Sean Tan, alum of Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW), joins them.

New recruits

On July 2 (Singapore time), Tan was featured in an article on the WWE website, announcing that he has reported for training at the WWE's Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

Tan is part of a new group of recruits, which also includes two Chinese athletes.

The article also mentioned Tan's career in SPW, where he competed under the name Trexxus and won the South East Asia championship.

Tan also shared a post about the news on his Facebook page.

Eagle-eyed fans would have noticed Tan popping up in a segment on a previous episode of WWE NXT.

He played a security guard in a scene with fellow wrestlers Cameron Grimes and LA Knight (Eli Drake).
