A chain collision occurred this afternoon (July 17) on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE).

Lim Weixiang, a witness to the aftermath posted this video of the accident online:

Lim told Mothership  that he spotted the incident at 1pm.

It happened on the PIE at Kallang Way, in the direction of Jurong.

There was a trail of cars and motorcycles on the rightmost lane, with many people standing around. One lady can be seen in the video holding on to an infant while two guys were seen sitting on the road.

From Lim's video, it appeared that the incident involved five cars and two motorcycles.

An overturned dark grey car at the front appeared to suffer the most damage, being heavily dented on its front and side.

In another video of the accident which was posted on Roads.sg, it appeared that three lanes were blocked off and the Singapore Civil Defence Force was on site.

At about 3pm, there was a tow truck on site which started to tow the overturned car away.
