They're not happy.

The Euro 2020 ended with the Italians emerging as champions after defeating England in the finals.

The victory was decided after a suspenseful penalty shootout at Wembley Stadium.

Fans not happy

However, many fans were not pleased with the result, and were particularly upset that Italy's captain Giorgio Chiellini was not given a red card for his now infamous "tackle" on English player Bukayo Saka.

In the final seconds of the second half stoppage-time, Chiellini had lost the ball to Saka, and aggressively dragged Saka down by tugging at a handful of his shirt.

Chiellini was subsequently handed a yellow card by referee Bjorn Kuipers.

Online petition

The referee's decision left many fans furious, so much so that an online petition was created addressing "the Euros 2020 managers", demanding that the match be replayed.

Change.org user Sharon Guilmen, who started the petition, wrote:

"The match on 11/07/2021 was not fair at all. After Italy only receiving a yellow card for dragging England players like they were slaves. All the pushes, pulls and kicks and Italy was still allowed to win? Definitely biased. Italy should have been given a red card for their gameplay and the rematch should happen with a non biased referee. This was not fair at all."

As of the time of writing, the petition had over 135,000 signatures. Its target is 150,000.

In a July 13 update, Guilmen stated:

"I am working on sending as many emails to agencies and possible people who will be able to help and assist more. Carry on sharing and commenting, signing, doing everything you can. Let’s try our hardest to get our country a fair chance!"
