The Malaysian casual eatery chain was first brought to Singapore in 2019 by local actor Mark Lee.

While its Singapore branch at Food Republic of 313@somerset remains in operation, a second outlet is set to open at Food Opera at ION Orchard in August.

Second outlet at ION

Lee had previously shared his plans to expand the brand earlier in March.

On July 26, the 52-year-old confirmed with 8 Days that Nam Heong will be opening its second outlet in ION Orchard.

The stall's opening is tentatively set at around August 15 to 18, to coincide with the resumption of dining in.

Lee also added that the opening is also subject to when the renovations can be completed.

The stall at ION will be slightly bigger than the 313@somerset outlet he said.

Exclusive items

Lee told 8 Days that some items exclusive to the ION outlet will include white coffee from Ipoh and limited-edition Deep Fried Salted Egg Custard Buns (S$4 for two buns).

Made with ingredients imported from Ipoh, each cup of white coffee will most likely cost "around S$2 plus", Lee said.

Lee said that the Deep Fried Salted Egg Custard Buns may become a permanent item after the two-to-three-month limited time period if there is a demand for it.
