The newest outlet marks Foreword's return to where they first started out in 2017, in the College of Alice & Peter Tan (CAPT) at NUS.

As a social enterprise, Foreword hires persons with disabilities, special needs and individuals with mental health conditions.

Opening special drink

To celebrate the opening, Foreword is offering a special drink — the Coconut/Attap Seed Ice Cream Latte (S$6.50).

It is an iced latte with double espresso, topped with a choice of either coconut or attap seed ice cream.

The opening special drink is available at their Temasek Shophouse and Canberra Plaza outlets as well, albeit for S$7.50.

Self-collection initiative at NUS outlet

In light of Phase 2 Heightened Alert, Foreword has also launched a self-collection initiative at University Town (UTown) to better cater to the students and staff staying on campus.

Exclusive to the new outlet, customers can message Foreword on Facebook or Instagram to make preorders with a minimum spending of $20.

Available on weekdays during lunch hours, orders can be picked up at UTown Plaza, next to Cheers.

Orders have to be placed at least half an hour in advance, at the three time slots: 11:30am, 12:30pm, and 1:30pm.

Upcycling

At the new outlet, Foreword has worked with local company Semula to produce upcycled stools and tables.

Empty milk bottles and caps from other Foreword outlets, along with abandoned logs salvaged from trees felled for urban development, were utilised for the project.

As part of their sustainability mandate, Foreword is also offering a 10 per cent discount across all outlets for customers who bring their own cup.
