Wedding receptions for up to 100 guests allowed from Jun. 21, food can be served

Pre-event testing will be required at all weddings with more than 50 attendees.

Singapore is transitioning out of Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) from Jun. 14, 2021.

Some of the current restrictions on weddings will be relaxed as well.

On Jun. 10, the Multi-Ministry Taskforce (MTF) announced in a press conference that wedding receptions, which were prohibited from May 16 onwards, will be allowed to resume from Jun. 21, with up to 100 attendees, if the situation remains under control in the coming weeks.

Wedding solemnisations will also be allowed to have up to 250 attendees from Jun. 14, 2021, an increase from the current limit of 100.

For wedding receptions and solemnisations with more than 50 attendees, pre-event testing (PET) for all attendees will be required.

Here's a summary of the updates for both receptions and solemnisations:

Wedding receptions

From now till Jun. 20:

  • Prohibited, only solemnisations allowed.

From Jun. 21:

  • Up to 100 attendees with PET required for all attendees.
  • Up to 50 attendees with PET only required for wedding party (up to 20 people, including bride and groom).

Wedding solemnisations

From now till Jun. 13:

  • Up to 100 attendees with PET required for all attendees.
  • Up to 50 attendees without PET.
  • Attendees must wear face masks at all times, except bride and groom who may wear face shields.

From Jun. 14:

  • Up to 250 attendees with PET required for all attendees.
  • Up to 50 attendees without PET.
  • Couple allowed to unmask for key wedding moments, attendees allowed to unmask momentarily for photo-taking.
  • For wedding solemnisations at home, either of two options, whichever is higher:

    • Hosting household will be able to invite up to five visitors, excluding members of the hosting household, the solemniser and vendors.
    • Hosting household can have up to 10 attendees in total, including all attendees but excluding the solemniser and vendors.
