The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed 45 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore as of 12pm on June 3, 2021.

This brought the total number of cases to 62,145.

A total of 35 of these such cases are in the community, of whom 34 are linked to previous cases, and one is currently unlinked, according to the latest MOH update.

One unlinked case

The sole unlinked case announced today is Case 64,008, a 41-year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) who works as a coating inspector at SBM Keppel Tuas.

He had travelled to India in July 2020, and returned to Singapore on April 20, 2021, when he served his Stay-Home Notice (SHN) at a dedicated facility until May 11.

His on-arrival test taken on April 20, as well as his swabs done on May 3 and May 10 during his SHN were all negative for Covid-19.

He is asymptomatic, and was detected when he was tested on June 1 as part of Rostered Routine Testing (RRT).

His test result subsequently came back positive for Covid-19 on June 2.

The man's serology test result is positive, which is indicative of a past infection.

According to MOH, he has been classified as a local unlinked case as MOH cannot fully exclude the possibility that he had been infected locally.

The man received his first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on May 24.
