TraceTogether token users will have to pay S$9 to replace the device if it is misplaced more than once.

The amount to be levied was announced by Smart Nation Singapore in a Facebook post on June 3, 2021.

The replacement tokens are available at any community centre.

Those facing financial difficulties can approach the TraceTogether counter staff for a fee waiver.

The first replacement of lost tokens was previously reported to be free.

Smart Nation Singapore did not say at that time what the replacement fee would be, only that subsequent replacements will be chargeable.

The TokenGoWhere website said tokens are replaced for free when they are out of battery or faulty.

It was previously reported that each TraceTogether token cost S$20 to make, and the cost has subsequently fallen to about S$10 each for new batches.

TraceTogether-only SafeEntry was made mandatory since May 17 at all higher-risk venues such as malls, workplaces and places of worship, and where people are likely to be in close proximity for prolonged periods.

Check-ins can be done either with the token or the TraceTogether mobile app.
