The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced a series of updated border control measures for travellers arriving from New South Wales and Victoria State, Australia on June 24.

MOH said that it will tighten border control measures for travellers with travel history to New South Wales (which includes the city of Sydney), and loosen restrictions for travellers arriving from Victoria State, in Thursday's press release.

Seven-day SHN for travellers from New South Wales

MOH said that due to the increased cases observed in New South Wales, border control measures will be tightened for travellers with travel history to the state.

From June 26 at 11:59pm, Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents (PRs) and Long-Term Pass holders who have travelled to New South Wales within the last 21 days will be subject to a seven-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) at their place of residence.

They will also have to take a Covid-19 PCR test upon arrival and before the end of the SHN period.

Short-term travellers holding an Air Travel Pass (ATP) with travel history to New South Wales within the last 21 days will not be allowed to enter Singapore.

It had previously been announced that travellers from Australia (excluding Victoria State) would be allowed to go about their activities without a need to serve SHN in Singapore, if their Covid-19 PCR test tested negative on arrival.

Eased restrictions for Victoria State

On the other hand, MOH said that from 11:59pm on June 26, all travellers with recent travel history to Victoria State (which includes the city of Melbourne) within the last 21 days will no longer have to serve a seven-day SHN period.

This is in light of the "improved" situation in Victoria State.

MOH added that travellers will be allowed to go about their activities in Singapore, if their PCR test result is negative when tested on arrival.

Short-term visitors who have travelled to Victoria State within the last 21 days can apply for an ATP with immediate effect, for entry into Singapore on or after July 1.

However, travellers who are already serving their seven-day SHN at their place of residence as of 11:59pm on June 26 will still be required to complete their SHN and exit swab.

All other travellers with travel history to Australia (excluding New South Wales) in the last 21 days prior to travel will continue to be subject to a Covid-19 test upon arrival at the airport, in lieu of their SHN.
