5 people, aged 17-24, allegedly broke into Senoko Loop coffee shop & stole S$50 worth of alcohol

The suspects were arrested within 48 hours of a police report being made.

Five people in Singapore have been arrested for suspected housebreaking and theft by night, a police press release on June 9 stated.

These involved three men and two women, aged between 17 and 24.

The police said that they received a report that a coffee shop unit at Senoko Loop was allegedly broken into. S$50 worth of alcoholic drinks were reported stolen.

A report about the incident was made on June 6.

Officers from Woodlands Police Division established the suspects' identities and arrested them within 48 hours through ground enquiries, CCTV images and follow-up investigations.

Under Section 451 of the Penal Code, a person convicted with a charge of housebreaking and theft can face a jail term of up to 10 years, and a fine.

Police investigations into the case are ongoing.
