After what must have been a restless seven-week wait, Singaporean diver Freida Lim's spot at the Olympics has finally been confirmed.

The 23-year-old took part in the FINA Diving World Cup in May, which served as the qualifying competition for the diving event at the Tokyo Olympics.

According to CNA, Lim placed 15th with a score of 272.35 at the women’s 10m platform semi-finals.

The Straits Times reported that Lim was diagnosed with Graves' disease, an autoimmune disorder, when she was 13.

Two years of medication later, with her thyroid function stabilised, the former competitive swimmer switched to diving as a sport.

At the Tokyo Olympics, Lim will be joining Jonathan Chan, who was the first Singaporean diver to qualify in 2019.
