On June 21, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that mandatory Covid-19 testing will be conducted for all residents at several more blocks in the vicinity of Redhill due to likely Covid-19 transmission.
This is after Covid-19 viral fragments were detected in wastewater samples collected from some blocks.
Epidemiological investigations are ongoing to determine the source of transmission.
Voluntary testing for visitors
To disrupt any wider, undetected community transmission, all residents of blocks 81, 82 and 83 Redhill Lane, and 87, 88, 89 and 90 Redhill Close are required to undergo testing.
Testing is optional for those who have tested negative for Covid-19 infection from June 18 onwards.
If a positive Covid-19 case is detected, MOH will isolate the case, identify all close contacts, test and quarantine them to protect the community from further transmission.
MOH will also conduct voluntary Covid-19 testing for visitors and those who have interacted with these residents between June 6 and 20.
This is to detect possible asymptomatic cases in the community,
MOH encourages these individuals to come forward for testing.
Both mandatory and voluntary testing will be conducted from June 21 to June 23 at the locations in the table below.
All residents are to bring along their NRIC for identification purposes during testing.
Leaflets have been distributed and SMS notifications have also been sent to the residents to provide them with more information.
Residents are also advised to monitor their health closely and consult a doctor immediately if they feel unwell.
Those who are still awaiting their test results are advised to minimise social interactions as much as possible.
They should continue to monitor their health and seek immediate medical attention if they feel unwell.
MOH previously conducted special testing operations for all staff and tenants working at shops at 78, 79, 80, 84 and 85 Redhill Lane, 86 Redhill Close, 18 Jalan Membina and Tiong Bahru Yong Tao Hu Coffeeshop (56 Eng Hoon Street).
Free Covid-19 testing was also extended to members of the public who had visited these locations.
