A man has been charged on June 2 for having sex with his adult daughter, The Straits Times reported.

According to court documents seen by Mothership, the 55-year-old allegedly had sex with his daughter on May 17, 2019, when she was 30.

He was also charged for supposedly attempting to commit incest with her later the same year, on Oct. 20.

Neither the man nor his daughter can be named due to a gag order.

Had sex with daughter while on remission order

Both of the offences had been supposedly committed by the man while he was on a remission order from May 14, 2019 to Jan. 11, 2021, according to ST.

However, court documents did not mention the offences from which he had been released from prison for.

As part of the remission order included staying out of trouble while it remained in effect, he has also been accused of breaching it for allegedly committing incest with his daughter.

ST further reported that the man intends to admit to his offences on June 21.

Under Section 376G of the Penal Code, a person who is guilty of incest may be punished with a prison term of up to five years.

He could also spend up to an additional 606 days behind bars, under the Prisons Act, for supposedly committing incest while on a remission order.

This amount of days is equal to the time from his first alleged offence on May 17, 2019, to the end of his remission order on Jan. 11, 2021.
