Two drunk men were spotted passed out on a sidewalk at Bugis last Saturday, June 12.

According to Chinese afternoon newspaper Shin Min Daily News (SMDN), one of them even had his pants down, exposing his genitals.

In response to Mothership's queries, the Police confirmed that they had received a call for assistance along Liang Seah Street on June 12 at 7:50pm.

What happened

An employee from a nearby restaurant, surnamed Ye, told Shin Min Daily News reporters that the two men appeared to already be inebriated when they showed up at Liang Seah Street.

One of them, dressed in a white shirt, first laid down on the ground; his companion, wearing a striped shirt, was heard reminding his partner to put on his mask.

However, after taking a seat beside his companion, the latter had allegedly taken off his pants for no apparent reason.

Another witness told SMDN that the Police had subsequently arrived on the scene. A police officer then passed the two men some water to help them regain sobriety.

A spokesperson from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed that two men, aged 35 and 41, were arrested for drunkenness in a public place under Section 14(1) of the Liquor Control Act on June 12.

If found to be guilty, the two men could be fined up to S$1,000, jailed for one month, or both.
