Man, 48, arrested after attacking 4 people, aged 19 to 59, with knife in Bukit Merah flat

A 48-year-old Singaporean man was arrested for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon on Sunday, June 6.

In a press release, the Police said that they had responded to a case of assault at a residential unit along 2 Jalan Bukit Merah Road on June 6 at 6:06am.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had attacked two men and two women who were living in the unit, aged between 19 and 59, with a knife.

The assailant is believed to be unknown to the victims.

The four victims were subsequently conveyed to the hospital.

The man was arrested at the scene.

The Police said that the man is believed to have been under the influence of drugs.

They added that he also has a medical history of mental illness.

The knife, a chopper, and two pen knives, as well as substances suspected to be drugs were seized from the scene. The man is believed to have acted alone.

Police investigations are ongoing.
