The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that Singapore's national vaccination programme will be accelerated from June 26.

80,000 doses daily

In its press release on June 24, MOH said the delivery of vaccine supplies has been brought forward, accelerating the national vaccination programme.

Under the accelerated programme, up to 80,000 doses can be administered daily, up from the current rate of 47,000 doses a day.

In the following days, MOH expects to add another 500,000 new first dose appointments from now till mid-July and more additional slots are expected to come in the subsequent weeks.

The national vaccination programme's priority window for Singapore Citizens aged 12 to 39 years will also be extended by a week till July 1.

This is to allow more time for registered individuals to book slots and receive an earlier vaccination appointment from the additional slots to be opened soon.

MOH encourages Singapore citizens in this age group who have not yet registered to do so by July 1. This is so that they can receive priority booking for a vaccination slot.

After which, vaccination slots will be on a first-come, first-serve basis for the rest of the population.

Singapore citizens who have already booked a slot for their first dose and have appointments in mid-to-end July 2021 are also encouraged to bring forward their appointments.

Eligible individuals, who have registered but have yet to receive a booking link, can expect to receive an SMS with a personalised booking link to make an appointment within the next week.

He said that 53 per cent of the population have been vaccinated with at least one dose. 36 per cent have received both doses.
