Senior citizens will get to enjoy a three per cent discount at all Giant Singapore supermarkets and hypermarkets in June and July.

Previously, discounts for senior citizens were only available every Tuesday.

But from June 14 to July 30, the discount will be expanded to all weekdays.

Storewide discounts

Those aged above 60 will be entitled to the discount.

No minimum spending is required, and the discount is applicable even for items already on promotion.

The discount is part of Giant's "Lower Prices That Last" campaign.

Seniors only need to present their identification card at the cashier for verification.

Marketing Director of Southeast Asia Food, Dairy Farm Group, Lee Yik Hun, said that seniors have become accustomed to shopping on Tuesday to enjoy further discounts.

With this new initiative, seniors will have the "flexibility, freedom and convenience" to shop on any weekday, while also "enjoying the same cost savings".

It also provides some financial relief to seniors during these challenging times.

Low prices

Giant previously introduced long-term price reductions on over 650 products across its 53 stores islandwide.

Certain stores also have a "S$1 zone", where all items cost only a dollar.
