On June 1, NTUC FairPrice announced on Facebook that their outlet at Block 451 Clementi Avenue 3 will be temporarily closed after they were informed of an employee who tested positive with the Covid-19 virus.

The infected staff was last at work on May 26.

NTUC said, "She received her first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination recently. She is currently at a quarantine facility, and we are rendering the necessary assistance to her and her family."

In line with the National Environment Agency's guidelines, the FairPrice store will be closed from June 1 to June 3 to facilitate deep cleaning procedures to disinfect the store.

At the same time, staff have been placed on a leave of absence and will undergo swab tests.

NTUC apologised for the inconvenience and said they will work closely with the authorities on contact tracing.

Other supermarkets with positive Covid-19 cases

Last month, there were other positive Covid-19 cases in NTUC FairPrice in Woodlands Avenue 1 and Sheng Siong outlet at Bukit Batok 440 that resulted in the temporary closure of the respective stores.
