Despite its name — which means "Sunday" in French — dessert cafe Dimanche 49 is not only open on Sundays. The name alludes to the co-owners' routine of meeting every Sunday to explore patisseries when they were studying in Paris.

Launched in April this year, Dimanche 49 is a fully-takeaway concept that specialises in deconstructed gelato and sorbet desserts "with a pastry chef's twist".

Co-owners Naomi and Carissa trained at an internationally-recognised Parisian culinary arts school, and have over 20 years of pastry experience between them.

They have worked at patisseries as well as three-Michelin-starred restaurants in France and Singapore.

Instead of trying to incorporate different flavours into the gelato alone, they have curated gelato and sorbet pairings "with gourmet toppings that come together as a reconstructed dessert".

However, it has been unavailable since Phase 2 (Heightened Alert).

Those who are keen to try may be pleased to know that they will be bringing it back in July.

Available in all their flavours on the menu, a Dimanche 49 spokesperson told Mothership that the Wild Strawberries flavour is the most popular flavour.

The waffle-wich will be served in a brown bag as pictured below:
