The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 11 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of Sunday (June 20).

This brings the total number of cases to 62,414.

There are nine cases in the community today, of whom four are linked to previous cases and five are currently unlinked.

Five unlinked cases

Case 64342 is a 83-year-old female Singaporean who is a retiree.

She developed a fever and cough on June 16 and sought medical treatment on June 18, when she was conveyed to the National University Hospital and tested for Covid-19.

Her test result came back positive for Covid-19 on June 19; her serology test result is negative.

Case 64345 is an 80-year-old female Singaporean who is a retiree.

She was conveyed to Singapore General Hospital for an unrelated medical condition on June 19 and found to have a fever.

She was tested for Covid-19 on the same day and returned a positive result.

Her serology test result is pending.

Case 64347 is a 22-year-old female Malaysia national who works as a dental assistant at Q&M Dental Surgery at Redhill MRT Station.

MOH noted that while at work she would don full personal protective equipment, including an N95 mask, face shield, googles, gown, and gloves.

She is asymptomatic, and was detected when she was tested for Covid-19 on June 19 as part of MOH's community surveillance testing for those who work in the Redhill Close area.

She was found to be infected with Covid-19 that same day; her serology test result is pending.

Case 64347 received her first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on May 23 and the second dose on June 13.

Case 64349 is a 24-year-old male Singaporean who works as a financial consultant with Prudential.

He developed a fever and sore throat on June 19 and sought medical treatment that same day.

He was administered both an antigen rapid test (ART) and a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. He was immediately isolated with the former came back positive.

His PCR test result also came back positive for Covid-19, while his serology test is pending.

Case 64353 is a 52-year-old male Singaporean who works as an engineer at the Housing and Development Board; he was last at work on May 13.

He was tested for Covid-19 on June 19 as part of MOH's community surveillance testing for visitors to the Bukit Merah View area.

Later that day he developed a fever, cough, and sore throat.

His test result came back positive for Covid-19 on June 20, while his serology test is pending.

Case 64353 received his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on June 5.

Four linked cases

There are 4 new cases of locally-transmitted Covid-19 infection that are linked to previous cases or clusters.

• Three cases are linked to the 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre cluster. All had already been placed on quarantine.
• One case is a linked to Case 64342, the 83-year-old retiree mentioned above.

There are currently 37 open clusters in Singapore, with the biggest being the 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre cluster with 73 cases.

MOH noted that the number of new cases in the community has increased from 36 cases in the week before to 108 cases in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases has also increased from 15 cases in the week before to 21 cases in the past week

Two imported cases

There are two imported cases: A Singaporean returning from Saudi Arabia and a Work Permit holder who arrived from Indonesia to work as a foreign domestic worker.

They have all already been placed on SHN upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN.

19 cases discharged

19 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

In all, 62,042 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 142 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Looking at the past few days, the number of active cases that require oxygen supplementation has been on the decline.

196 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.

34 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
