4 Covid-19 community cases on June 28 include PUB engineer & Best Denki staff

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed nine new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore on Monday, June 28.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore thus far to 62,553.

Four community cases

There are four cases in the community today, all of whom are linked to previous cases.

Case 64499 is linked to the 105 Henderson Crescent cluster. He is a 60-year-old male Singaporean who works at Lam Chuan Import-Export Pte Ltd.

He is a family member and household contact of Case 64495 and a household contact of Case 64473, and was placed on quarantine on June 26.

He is asymptomatic, and was detected when he was tested for Covid-19 on June 26 during quarantine. His test result came back positive for Covid-19 infection on June 27.

His serology test result is negative for the N antigen, which suggests the presence of early infection. Case 64499 received his first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on Apr. 3 and the second dose on Apr. 24.

Case 64496 is a 37-year-old male Singaporean who is employed by Best Denki as a television installer.

He developed a fever and body aches on June 17 but did not seek medical attention. As he had been identified as a family member and household contact of Case 64463, he was placed on quarantine on June 25.

Case 64463 is a 32-year-old female Singaporean who works as an administrative staff at Walt Disney. She was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on June 25.

Case 64496 was tested for Covid-19 on June 26 during quarantine, and his test result came back positive for Covid-19 infection on June 27. His serology test result is positive.

Case 64498 is an 81-year-old male Singaporean who is a retiree. He is a family member and household contact of Case 64478, and was placed on quarantine on June 26.

He developed a cough on the same day but did not report his symptom.

He was detected when he was tested for Covid-19 on June 26 during quarantine, and his test result came back positive for Covid-19 infection on June 27. His serology test result is pending.

Case 64504 is a 56-year-old male Singaporean who works as an engineer at PUB (80 Toh Guan Road).

He is a family member and household contact of Case 64468, and was placed on quarantine on June 25.

He was tested for Covid-19 on June 26 during quarantine but his test result was inconclusive.

He was tested for Covid-19 again on June 27, and developed a sore throat later that day. His test result came back positive for Covid-19 infection on June 28.

His serology test result is negative for the N antigen, which suggests the presence of early infection.

Case 64504 received his first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on Mar. 1 and the second dose on Mar. 22.

Five imported cases

Amongst the 5 imported cases,

  • Two (Cases 64501 and 64502) are Singaporeans who returned from Pakistan.
  • One (Case 64503) is a Student’s Pass holder who arrived from Indonesia.
  • One (Case 64500) is a Work Permit holder who arrived from Indonesia.
  • One (Case 64505) entered Singapore waters from Indonesia without valid documentation. He was arrested by the Singapore Police Force’s Police Coast Guard, and tested for Covid-19 infection during isolation.

17 cases discharged

17 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

In all, 62,212 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 135 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and three are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

170 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.

36 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.

Two new locations added to list of places visited by infectious Covid-19 cases

MOH regularly updates a list of public places visited by confirmed Covid-19 cases for more than 30 minutes while they were infectious.

Two new locations were added to the list on June 28:

  • Healthy Path Spa (June 17, 12:20pm to 1:15pm)
  • Shi Fu Food Court at Toh Guan Centre ( June 24, 12:30pm-1:30pm)
