The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 13 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore on Thursday, June 10.
This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore thus far to 62,236.
Four community cases
There are 4 cases in the community today, of whom 2 are linked to previous cases and 2 are currently unlinked.
Two unlinked cases
Case 64123 is a 29 year-old male India national who works as a nursing aide at Orange Valley Nursing Home (Balestier).
He is asymptomatic, and was detected when he was tested for Covid-19 on June 8 as part of the nursing home’s surveillance testing for staff.
His pooled test result came back positive for Covid-19 on June 9, and an individual test was done on the same day.
His individual test result also came back positive for Covid-19 infection on June 9. His serology test result is positive.
Case 64123 received his first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on Apr. 23, and the second dose on May 14.
Case 64132 is a 74 year-old male Singaporean who works at a sundry store at 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Hawker Centre.
He developed a cough on June 8, and sore throat on June 9, and sought medical treatment at a General Practitioner (GP) clinic on the same day, where he was administered both an antigen rapid test (ART) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
He was immediately isolated when his ART result came back positive on the same day.
His PCR test result also came back positive for Covid-19 infection on June 9. His serology test result is pending.
Case 64132 received his first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on Mar. 16, and the second dose on Apr. 6.
Two linked cases
- One case is linked to the Changi Prison Complex cluster.
- One case is linked to Case 64112 (a 35 year-old female Malaysia national who works as a retail assistant at Four Leaves (Ion Orchard and AMK Hub). He is a 40 year-old male Malaysia national who is a baker at St Leaven (Takashimaya).
Nine imported cases
Amongst the 9 imported cases,
- Two (Cases 64130 and 64131) are Singaporeans and five (Cases 64124, 64126, 64127, 64128 and 64129) are Singapore Permanent Residents who returned from Angola, India, the Philippines and the UK.
- One (Case 64133) is a Work Pass holder who arrived from the Philippines.
- One (Case 64125) is a Work Permit holder who arrived from Indonesia.
They have all already been placed on SHN upon arrival in Singapore and were tested
while serving SHN.
25 cases discharged
25 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
In all, 61,765 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 150 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
287 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.
34 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
Covid-19 testing at Sumang Walk and Hougang Ave 8 done
On June 8, it was announced that all residents of Block 325A Sumang Walk in Punggol will have to undergo mandatory Covid-19 testing, after a total of eight Covid-19 infections were detected there.
Residents at Block 506 Hougang Avenue 8 were also required to undergo a second round of testing on June 4 and 5.
The residents were previously tested on May 21 and 22, after several cases were found residing in the block.
The Ministry of Health updated on June 10 that it has concluded mandatory testing at both Sumang Walk and Hougang Ave 8.
As of June 10, 5pm, 452 residents and visitors of 325A Sumang Walk were tested, and all were found to be negative for Covid-19 infection.
4,347 visitors of 506 Hougang Avenue 8, and residents and visitors of neighbouring blocks (511 Hougang Avenue 10; 681, 683 and 684 Hougang Avenue 8; 682 Hougang Avenue 4; 685 and 698 Hougang Street 61) have voluntarily stepped forward for testing.
4,273 individuals were found to be negative for Covid-19 infection and 74 more test results are pending.
