On Monday (May 24) evening, two light rail transit (LRT) trains in Kuala Lumpur collided in an underground tunnel, leaving more than 210 commuters injured.

Some pictures and videos showed several commuters bleeding, while others showed broken glass panels. A few commuters can also be seen crying.

According to Free Malaysia Today, this LRT accident is the worst in the train service's history since it started operations in 1996.
Six in critical condition
On Tuesday (May 25), Malaysian federal territories minister Annuar Musa said that six people are in critical condition, of whom three are intubated.
Another 15 are in a "semi-critical" state.

MFA: No Singaporean casualties
Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a statement on May 25 that the Singapore government is "saddened" to learn of the many injuries caused by the accident.
"We send our sympathies to the families affected by the accident and wish the injured a smooth and speedy recovery."
MFA added that there are currently no reports of Singaporean casualties.
The Singapore High Commission in Kuala Lumpur is also in touch with the local authorities.

Special investigation task force formed
On Tuesday (May 25) morning, Malaysian transport minister Wee Ka Siong told the media that a special investigation task force will be formed to probe the accident.
In addition, Wee said that the director general of APAD (Malaysia's Land Public Transport Agency) will send the preliminary report of the incident to Wee tomorrow (May 26).
Wee added that the task force will be given two weeks to complete its investigation.
