M'sia's new Covid-19 cases surge past 8,000-mark with 8,290 infections on May 28

Highest daily record for the fourth day in a row.

New Covid-19 cases in Malaysia have passed the 8,000-mark for the first time on Friday, May 28, with 8,290 infections, Reuters reported.

The country has recorded a new daily record for the fourth day in a row, surpassing 7,857 cases on May 27, according to The Star.

A total of 549,514 cases have been recorded in Malaysia thus far.

Selangor still maintains the highest daily increase, with 2,052 new cases.
