Children aged 1, 2, 5 & 9 among 15 linked Covid-19 community cases in S'pore

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 29 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore on May 22, 2021.

This brings the total number of cases to 61,799.

There are 22 new Covid-19 community cases, of which 15 are linked to previous cases.

The remaining seven are currently unlinked.

There are no new cases in the dormitories.

There are seven imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Among the 15 linked community cases, four involve children aged 1, 2, 5 and 9.

Here are their details.

Case 63357 cluster

Already quarantined

Case 63560 is a two-year-old male Singaporean who is a student at My First Skool at 51 Fernvale Link.

As he had been identified as a close contact of Case 63357, he was placed on quarantine on May 16.

He was tested for Covid-19 on May 20 during quarantine and his test result came back positive for Covid-19 the next day.

On the same day, he developed a fever. His serology test result is negative.

Case 63414 cluster

Already quarantined

Case 63584 is a nine-year-old female Singaporean who is a student at Springdale Primary School, and was last in school on May 17.

She is a family member and household contact of Case 63414, and was placed on quarantine on May 17.

She was tested for Covid-19 on May 21 during quarantine, and developed anosmia the same evening.

Her test result came back positive for Covid-19 infection the same day. Her serology test result is pending.

Already quarantined

Case 63585 is a five year-old female Singaporean who is a student at M.Y. World Preschool (Anchorvale Parkview).

She is a family member and household contact of Case 63414.

She developed a fever, runny nose and abdominal pain on May 11, and sought medical treatment at a GP clinic on May 13 but was not tested for Covid-19.

As she had been identified as a close contact of Case 63414, she was placed on quarantine on May 7.

She was tested for Covid-19 on May 21 during quarantine and her test result came back positive for Covid-19 infection on the same day. Her serology test result is pending.

Case 63516 cluster

Already quarantined

Case 63572 is a one- year-old male Singaporean and a family member of Cases 63513 and 63516.

He developed a fever on May 16. As he has been identified as a close contact of Case 63516, he was placed on quarantine on May 19.

He was tested for Covid-19 on May 20 during quarantine and his test result came back positive for

Covid-19 infection the next day. His serology test result is negative.
