The National Environmental Agency (NEA) took to their official Facebook page to debunk claims that they had sent officers on patrol at HDB estates to conduct spot checks for Hari Raya visits.

Conducting dengue engagement programme

On May 13, NEA said that they were alerted to a photograph circulating online.

The photo stated that NEA officers were patrolling HDB estates for safe distancing infringements during Hari Raya visits.

This may have been the photograph in question, which was a screenshot of an Instagram Story.

NEA clarified that the photograph was taken on May 12, and the officers were conducting regular dengue engagement.

They reminded the public to comply fully with safe management rules and to keep strictly to the guidelines of the allowed number of visitors.

Similar messages going around

A similar message has also been circulating around, with claims that Town Council Estate Ambassadors are going around doing house checks.

This was then debunked by the Nee Soon Town Council on May 7, who clarified that they look out for cleanliness and maintenance issues, and do not make house checks.
