On May 27, HBO Max streamed the highly-anticipated "Friends" reunion special.

The special episode also called "The One Where They Get Back Together" — comes 27 years since the show first aired and 17 years since the series' final episode.

The episode starred all six stars: Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

Here are some highlights from the 104-minute special episode.

Cox used to write her lines on the apartment's table

This little secret was revealed by LeBlanc, who played Joey Tribbiani in the series.

While wiping the tears off Cox's (who played Monica Geller) face, he reminded her of how she was struggling with a "big speech" in her script so she would write her lines on the table.

Before she shot the scene, LeBlanc erased the lines off the table.

When she asked why he would do that, he answered matter-of-factly: "Just to get you!"

Classic Joey.

Actor who played Fake Joey almost got casted as Joey

While Joey's character seemed like it was written for LeBlanc, there were other actors who auditioned for the role.

One of them includes Australian actor Louis Mandylor.

According to director Kevin Bright, the creators debated between LeBlanc and Mandylor before going with the former.

Ironically, Mandylor made a cameo in "The One With Unagi" episode as Fake Joey.

Perry felt like he was "going to die" if people didn't laugh

Chandler Bing, who is played by Perry, is arguably one of the funnier characters with iconic punchlines.

However, he revealed that every night, he felt like he was "going to die" if the live studio audience didn't laugh at his jokes.

He said: "And it's not healthy for sure. But I would sometimes say a line and they wouldn't laugh, and I would sweat and... and just, like, go into convulsions if I didn't get the laugh I was supposed to get."

This was a new revelation not just to fans of the show, but also his fellow co-stars as Kudrow who seemed worried said, "You didn't tell us that."

Lady Gaga sang "Smelly Cat" with Kudrow

While Phoebe Buffay wasn't the best singer, you can't deny that "Smelly Cat" is a bop.

In the reunion episode, Kudrow picked up the guitar and channelled Buffay once again and serenaded the audience with the classic hit in Central Perk.

Lady Gaga then entered and sang her own rendition.

Of course, Kudrow said it was "not bad" before saying it was "really, really good."

Schwimmer and Aniston crushed on each other

A lot of fans shipped Ross Geller and Rachel Green together, who, spoiler alert, ended up together by the end of the series.

But what many people didn't know then was that Schwimmer (who played Ross) had been crushing on Aniston (who played Rachel) since season one.

After he revealed this detail in the reunion episode, Aniston agreed that the feelings were mutual.

However, both of them said that they never took it to the next step (although LeBlanc jokingly called "bullsh*t" on this).

Schwimmer said: "At some point, we were both crushing hard on each other but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship. So... and we never crossed that boundary."

Aniston dated actor Tate Donovan from 1995 to 1998 and went on to marry Brad Pitt in 2000 before they divorced in 2005.

Schwimmer, on the other hand, dated singer Natalie Imbruglia in the late 1990s.

This is the last time they'll ever get together for "Friends"

After 17 years, the reunion episode is a long time coming for ardent fans of the popular series.

But as the cliche goes, all good things must come to an end.

Towards the end of the episode, Cox said in a room with the rest of her teary-eyed castmates-turned-good-friends that this would be the last time that they would gather as a group to talk about "Friends".

"This will be the last time that we're ever asked about the show as a group, that we will do this. Like, we're not gonna do this again in 15 more years."
