A video of an injured elderly man at a void deck in Whampoa made its rounds on the internet on May 23.

Initial reports alleged that the man had been hit by an e-scooter on May 18, after a child came forward with his version of events.

A passer-by who had stopped to help filmed the man wiping his wounds. The man appeared to be bleeding quite heavily.

In response to queries from Mothership, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said that they were alerted to a suspected case of rash act causing hurt at Block 17 Jalan Tenteram on May 18.

A 71-year-old man was conveyed to the hospital in a conscious state.

However, based on preliminary investigations, no foul play is suspected, as the man had fallen down on his own, and not knocked down by a personal mobility device (PMD), the police said.
