3 young students, ages 6 to 7, at Hougang tuition centre test positive for Covid-19

The 3 students attended 2 different schools.

A total of three students who attended EduFirst Learning Centre in Hougang have been confirmed as Covid-19 cases, after two new cases were reported as linked to a previous case, in the Ministry of Health (MOH)'s May 15 update.

Case 63256 is a 6 year-old male Singaporean who is a student at Palm View Primary School, while Case 63257 is a 7 year-old male Singaporean who is a student at Yio Chu Kang Primary School.

Both boys were asymptomatic, and had been quarantined prior to testing positive, as they had attended classes at EduFirst Learning Centre in Hougang together with Case 63122, who was confirmed to have Covid-19 on May 12.

Case 63122, a 7 year-old male Philippines national, is also a student at Yio Chu Kang Primary School.

He is a household contact of Case 63096, a 33 year-old male Philippines national who works as an operating theatre nurse at Sengkang General Hospital and who was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 11 May.

Case 63096 cluster: 5 cases currently

The two new cases, Case 63256 and Case 63257, are linked to the Case 63096 cluster, which currently has five cases.

Aside from the operating theatre nurse (Case 63096) and the three students (Case 63122, Case 63256 and Case 63257), Case 63221 — a 39 year-old male Philippines national who works at Unity Pharmacy and is a family member of Case 63122 — is also linked to the cluster.
