A customer was expecting a hearty meal from Crave Nasi Lemak & Teh Tarik (Crave), but much to her horror, her dinner was interrupted by a metal nail.

Rusty nail found in Crave nasi lemak

The customer took to Facebook to complain about this incident which happened at Compass One's outlet.

It was her first time trying nasi lemak from Crave, the customer said in her post on May 12 at around 9:30pm.

In response to some concerned commenters, she described the nail to be "super long" and "rusty".

She also said that the nail was covered in the chilli paste, so it can be hard to spot the nail while eating.

The customer responded to a comment last night that she was waiting for a response from Crave, and she was going to see the doctor.

Crave: Investigations ongoing

When Mothership reached out to Crave on May 13, a spokesperson apologised for this customer's experience and said that they are trying to get in touch with her.

The spokesperson said that the company is looking into the matter, adding that the rice that Crave uses is hand-washed before cooking, and there is a metal detector at the factory producing its Ikan Bilis.

The company is investigating how the metal nail could have gotten into the customer's nasi lemak.
