The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 25 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore as of 12pm on May 23, 2021.
This brings the total number of cases to 61,824.
There are 22 new cases of locally-transmitted Covid-19 infection, consisting of 21 cases in the community and one dormitory case.
Of the 22 cases, three cases are unlinked.
12 of the linked cases had already been placed on quarantine earlier.

Cases in the community
Case 63609
- 60-year-old female Singaporean who is a homemaker
- Asymptomatic
- Detected when she was tested for Covid-19 on May 21 as part of MOH's testing operations for residents of block 506 Hougang Avenue 8
- Result came back positive on May 22
- Serology test result is pending
- Received her first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Mar. 29 and the second dose on Apr. 19
Case 63623
- 74-year-old female Singaporean who is a homemaker
- Developed body aches, vomiting and chills on May 19 and sought treatment at a General Practitioner (GP) clinic on the same day
- Not tested for Covid-19 as she did not report any acute respiratory infection (ARI) symptoms
- Conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital on May 22 when her condition worsened
- Tested for Covid-19 on May 22, result came back positive on the same day
- Serology test result is pending
- Received her first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Apr. 20 and the second dose on May 11
Cases residing in dormitories:
Case 63622
- 46-year-old male Malaysian construction worker at H&W Communications Pte Ltd
- Resides at Harvest @ Woodlands (280 Woodlands Industrial Park E5)
- Asymptomatic
- Detected when he was tested on May 22 as part of the Rostered Routine Testing (RRT)
- Tested for Covid-19 on May 22, result came back positive on the same day and was immediately isolated
- Earlier tests from RRT — the latest on May 8 — were negative for Covid-19 infection
- Serology test result is negative
Summary of new cases linked to previous cases
There are 19 new community cases linked to the previous Covid-19 cases.
Of these 19 cases:
- Three are linked to the Changi Airport Terminal 3 cluster, including a seven-year-old student from St Stephen's School
- Four are linked to the JEM/Westgate cluster
- One is linked to the Marina Bay Sands Casino dealer cluster
- Two are linked to the McDonald's delivery riders cluster
- One is linked to the Sms Infocomm cluster
- One is linked to the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Ward 9D cluster
- One is linked to the case 63236 cluster. Case 63236 is a 53-year-old male Singaporean who works as a personal chauffeur.
- One is linked to the case 63304 cluster. Case 63304 is a 35-year-old female Portugal national who work as a sales personnel at Sanofi-Aventis.
- One is linked to the case 63392 cluster. Case 63392 is a 39-year-old female Singaporean who works as a manager at Corner Stone Global Partners Pte Ltd.
- One is linked to the case 63479 cluster. Case 63479 is a 49-year-old female Singapore permanent resident who is a homemaker.
- Three cases are linked to other previously confirmed cases, all of whom were already quarantined.
Imported cases
There are three imported cases today.
Among the three cases, two are Singapore permanent residents and one is a Work Permit holder.
The imported cases returned from India and Malaysia.
17 more cases discharged
17 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

- 61,294 have fully recovered and have been discharged
- 242 cases are still in hospital, three are in the ICU
- 256 are isolated at community facilities
- 32 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection
