38 community cases in S'pore on May 16, 18 unlinked

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 49 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore on May. 16.

This brings the total number of cases to 61,585.

There are 38 new cases of locally-transmitted Covid-19 infection, of whom 20 are linked to previous cases. 18 are unlinked.

Amongst them, 13 had already been placed on quarantine earlier.

Based on MOH's investigations so far, the cases are in the community, and there are no new cases in the dormitories.

11 of the cases announced today are imported, and all were placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

Of these, five are returning Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents.
