On Sunday, May 30, a woman shared that 50 cats in Singapore are being put up for immediate adoption or fostering.

According to a post shared on the Sayang our Singapore's Community Cats Facebook group, the woman wrote that a family living in Bedok has 50 cats that need to be removed from the unit.

The family had allegedly received a letter from the Housing and Development Board (HDB) to remove the cats by June 30.

Concerned that the cats would subsequently be abandoned, the woman was thus appealing to members of the public to help to adopt the cats.

For immediate adoption

The woman claimed that the family had a history of breeding and abandoning cats, and that this is the second time they are receiving a letter from HDB.

In her post, she explained that the case had recently been handled by the Haus of Furries, a local animal rescue service.

All 50 cats have been sterilised – they are ear-tipped or have the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) tattoo.
