S'pore man, 24, arrested after allegedly running off from Upper Boon Keng meet-up with 2 Rolex watches

He had arranged the meet-up under the guise of potentially purchasing them.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly stealing two Rolex watches worth a total of S$44,500.

According to a news release from the Singapore Police Force (SPF), the theft took place on Mar. 6 at about 3:45pm along Upper Boon Keng Road.

Investigations found the man had arranged to meet-up with the victim under the guise of wanting to purchase two Rolex watches.

While the man was checking the watches, he allegedly ran off with them in his possession.

Officers from Bedok Police Division and Police Operations Command Centre were able to identify and arrest a suspect with the aid of images from CCTV footage.

Additionally, one of the Rolex watches was recovered after it was found listed for sale online.

The man will be charged in court on Mar. 8, 2021, for the offence of theft.

If found guilty, he could be sentenced to a jail term of up to three years, a fine, or both.
