Police looking for 3 men in relation to Circular Road restaurant fight after 7 others arrested

Police remind public harbouring fugitives is a serious offence.

The police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of three more men to assist with investigations into the Circular Road restaurant fight case.

Seven men already arrested

Seven men, aged 20 to 42, were charged in court on Dec. 22, after they were arrested following the fight that broke out at Circular Road on Sunday night, Dec. 20.

They were arrested for rioting and committing a rash act.

What happened

Two groups of people got into a fight at The Mask Restaurant and Bar, located at 26 Circular Road.

The police said they were alerted to the fight at around 9:45pm.

A video of the altercation and photos of the aftermath of the incident were put up and circulated online.

The photos showed tables and chairs overturned inside the restaurant, as well as police officers at the scene.

Two men arrested immediately

The police said, upon their arrival, two men, aged 24 and 42, were arrested at the scene "for rash act".

The rest of the suspects fled before the police arrived.

The police statement on Tuesday said they had also seized a knife as a case exhibit.

Five other men arrested within two hours

But the others allegedly involved did not get away for long.

Five other men were arrested within two hours from the time of the police report, police said.

The police established the identities of the five other men, aged 20 and 27, through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras.

The five suspects are believed to have been involved in the fight.

Five men, aged between 20 and 27, face the rioting charge, which carries a jail term of up to seven years and caning.

The two other men, aged 24 and 42, face the committing rash act charges, which carries a jail term of up to six months and/ or a fine of up to S$2,500.

All information received will be kept strictly confidential.

The police said in their statement that harbouring fugitives is a serious offence, punishable with jail and a fine.

The statement said: "The police will not tolerate such brazen acts of violence and blatant disregard of the law. We will spare no effort to apprehend such offenders and deal with them in accordance with the law."

Police investigations are ongoing.
