The second presidential debate that is scheduled for Oct. 15 will now be held virtually, according to CNBC.

The debate was originally meant to be held in Miami, Florida.

The change in the format of the debate comes after President Donald Trump and his wife tested positive for Covid-19 six days ago.

Not going to waste his time

In an interview with Fox Business, Trump said: "No, I’m not going to waste my time on a virtual debate."

“You sit behind a computer and do a debate. It’s ridiculous, and then they cut you off whenever they want,” he added.

Trump's team claimed that the Commission on Presidential Debates changed the format to favour Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Biden's deputy campaign manager wrote in a tweet that the former vice president "looks forward to speaking directly to the American people".
