United States President Donald Trump has called his Covid-19 infection a "blessing from God".
Wants to make it free for Americans to receive the same medications he did
In a video posted on his Twitter account on Wednesday, Oct. 8 (U.S. time), two days after returning from Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre, Trump said he is back at the Oval Office in the White House.
Lavishing praise on the treatment he received that made him feel better "immediately" -- in particular an experimental antibody cocktail developed by American biotechnology company Regeneron -- Trump said it was thanks to these medications that he was feeling "great" 24 hours after walking into the hospital.
Mistakenly calling the medication "Regeneron", and saying that they are a "cure", he said he wants to make the drugs free to all in the country, and get them fast to seniors as well.
"That's what I want for everybody," he said. "I want everybody to be given the same treatment as your president."
"Because I feel great. I feel, like, perfect, so I think this was a blessing from God that I caught it," Trump said.
Adding that his infection is "a blessing in disguise", Trump said if he did not catch Covid-19, "we'd be looking at that like a number of other drugs".
He also said they are waiting for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to issue an emergency use authorisation to use the medication on other Covid-19 patients.
Blamed China for the pandemic
Trump went on to blame China for the pandemic that has claimed over 210,000 lives in the U.S. so far.
“It wasn’t your fault that this happened, it was China’s fault, and China is going to pay a big price [for] what they’ve done to this country," he said.
"China’s going to pay a big price, what they’ve done to the world. This was China’s fault. And just remember that."

His vice president Mike Pence echoed the same point in his debate with Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
In addition, Trump said he could have stayed at the White House the past four days, instead of the hospital, but he did so anyway under his doctor's instructions.
The Covid-19 outbreak in the White House has continued to grow for the past few days, with more aides around Trump testing positive for the virus, such as White House senior adviser Stephen Miller and press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
