A power fault on the North-South, East-West and Circle Lines during Oct. 14's evening peak hour has disrupted train services on these three MRT lines.
Power fault causes train disruptions on three lines
SMRT sent out a series of live tweets this evening on the disruption of train services.
Train services along the following parts were affected by the power fault:
1. between Jurong East and Marsiling
2. between Serangoon and Harbourfront
3. between Clementi and Tuas Link
Parts of North-South and East-West lines affected first
Train services along North-South and East-West lines were first disrupted at around 7pm.
[NSL]: Due to a power fault, there is no train svc btwn #Woodlands and #JurongEast. Free regular bus service is available between #Woodlands and #JurongEast. Passenger are advised to avoid #JurongEast.

[EWL]: Due to a power fault, there is no train svc btwn #Clementi and #GulCircle. Free regular bus service is available between #Queenstown and #TuasLink. Passenger are advised to avoid #JurongEast.

Passengers were evacuated from the trains and crowds formed at affected stations.
Free bridging bus services were quickly made available to these affected passengers.
Here's the situation at Boon Lay:
A bus stop near Buona Vista was extremely crowded as a result:
Parts of Circle Line affected too
At around 8:15pm, parts of Circle Line experienced a power fault too.

Here's the situation at Tai Seng at around 8:30pm:
As of 8:45pm, SMRT informed that train service has been restored progressively.
