Jalan Besar eatery visited by confirmed Covid-19 case

This is the second day that no dormitory cases have been reported.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed five new Covid-19 cases as of 12pm on Oct. 14.

This brings the total number of cases to 57,889.

Second day without dormitory cases

There are two new cases in the community, along with three imported cases.

According to MOH, the three imported cases were placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Among the three imported case, one (Case 58,043) is a Singaporean who returned from the UK, while another (Case 58,044) is a Short-Term Visit Pass holder currently employed in Singapore, who arrived from Russia.

The remaining person (Case 58,046) is a Student's Pass holder who arrived from India.

This is also the second day that no dormitory cases have been reported.

Community cases

The two cases in the community today who are contacts of a previously confirmed case. Cases 58,045 and 58,047 had earlier been identified as contacts of Case 57,947.

The new cases are school students, and had last been at their respective schools on Oct. 2.

All three cases are family members residing in the same household.

Existing cases update

12 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

In all, 57,752 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 39 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital, with no cases in the intensive care unit (ICU).

70 are isolated and cared for in community facilities.

One new locations reported today

MOH regularly updates a list of public places visited by confirmed cases for more than 30 minutes during their infectious period.

This is the latest list of locations visited by confirmed cases within the last two weeks.

Those who had been identified as close contacts of confirmed cases would already have been notified by MOH.

As a precautionary measure, those who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit.

They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history.

MOH also said that there is no need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been. The National Environment Agency will engage the management of affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.
