Man slashed at Boon Lay Shopping Centre's FairPrice outlet, police investigating

Apparently, blood was seen "everywhere".

A man was allegedly slashed in an NTUC FairPrice outlet at Boon Lay Shopping Centre.

The incident reportedly happened today afternoon (Oct. 7).

According to photos posted by Facebook user Jimmy Rheo, the supermarket outlet appears to be closed and cordoned off by Police tape.

Jimmy also apparently saw blood "everywhere" near the entrance of the supermarket.

Videos posted online show a group of people tending to a man and applying bandages.

Several policemen were also seen on site.

Speaking to Mothership, a FairPrice spokesperson said that its store operations remain unaffected.

"We are aware of the incident that took place outside our store at Blk 221 Boon Lay Place on 7 October 2020 at about 12.40pm. Our staff rendered immediate assistance and ensured that the safety of our shoppers was not compromised. Our store operations remain unaffected.

We are unable to comment further as police investigations are ongoing."

The police told Mothership that they were alerted to a case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon at 221 Boon Lay Place.

The 23-year-old victim suffered injuries to his face and head and was conscious when conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

Here's the police's statement in full:

"On 7 October 2020 at 12.40pm, the Police were alerted to a case of voluntarily causing grevious hurt by dangerous weapon at 221 Boon Lay Place. A 23-year-old man was attacked by another man with a knife. The 23-year-old man suffered injuries to his face and head and was conscious when conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. Police investigations are ongoing."
