Malaysian politician Anwar Ibrahim, leader of PKR, has left the palace after less than one hour.
According to Malaysiakini, he arrived at the palace at around 10:25am and left at around 11:30am, without any comment on the result of his meeting.
Uncertainty and confidence
Anwar previously claimed that he had the support of a majority of Members of Parliament, and therefore, had the numbers to become Malaysia's ninth Prime Minister.
But there was a touch of uncertainty about the day's events.
Earlier this morning (Oct. 13), according to Malay Mail, PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil said, "At this time I have not yet received any instructions or information regarding the timing of the audience, or if they will be a press conference after that."
However, following Anwar's meeting with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Fahmi Fadzil announced that Anwar will be holding a special press conference at 2:00pm at Le Meridien Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, regarding "an important announcement post-audience with the Agong".
This morning, Anwar also shared a Facebook post of him and his wife, with the caption "Hope all of today's matters will be eased."
