You might have recently heard that one of Akihabara's most iconic buildings — the SEGA Building No.2 — is closing after 17 years of operation.

The arcade saw its last day of operations two days ago, on Aug. 30.

Fans have taken to social media to thank the arcade for the last 17 years.

The manager of the arcade gave a small speech to the surrounding fans. He said:

"We are closing building 2 but that's not the end, we still remain in Akihabara with the rest of our buildings. My last words as the branch manager of Sega building 2 are that I hope you will continue to make wonderful memories and have amazing encounters through Sega from now on. We are truly grateful to you all."

SEGA Building No. 2 was one of four SEGA arcades in the district, and is the smallest out of the four.
