Food In The Woods, a vegetarian eatery in Ang Mo Kio, recently took to Facebook to share how a man had taken some of their food.
Took some bags filled with ingredients
According to CCTV footage dated Aug. 21, the man was seen removing some plastic bags from the shop's table.
The eatery said that the bags contained ingredients, and because of the man's actions, they were unable to offer noodles, kway teow and tofu that day.
The man, whose face cannot be seen in the photos shared by the eatery, was dressed in a t-shirt and shorts with slippers.
They, however, said they understand that there might be people "in real need".
The eatery urged those in need and "going hungry to "walk in and ask for a free meal".
"If you (or anyone) are really in need, going hungry, please just let us know," they said.
The eatery said that they did not make a police report, and that the purpose of their post was to deter others from doing the same.
Only take what you need
In their Facebook post, the eatery also claimed that they had seen their "fair share" of people who have taken things, such as a canned drink or multiple cutlery sets and chilli packets.
One customer even took a pillow, the post added.
They hope that people would spare a little more thought and to only take what they need.
