Star Awards 2020 & 2021 to be combined due to Covid-19, will take place on Apr. 18, 2021

It has been an annual event since 1994.

Due to the developing Covid-19 situation, this year's Star Awards ceremony will be combined with Star Awards 2021.

Star Awards to be held on April 18, 2021

Star Awards 2021 is set to take place on Apr. 18, 2021.

Qualifying period for nominees of Star Awards 2021 will be from Jan. 1 2019 to Dec. 31, 2020.

Postponed due to Covid-19

According to a statement by Mediacorp, this decision was made after careful consideration and took into account the evolving Covid-19 situation and the need to maintain vigilance and precautionary measures as Singapore continues to battle the virus.

"In taking this decision, we continue to place the health and safety of our artistes, crew and guests as a top priority."

The award show was originally scheduled for April 26, 2020.

However, due to the circuit breaker period, it was then postponed to the second half of 2020.

Annual award ceremony since 1994

Held since 1994, the Star Awards is an annual award ceremony by Mediacorp to celebrate the achievements of the best in local entertainment over the past year.

As of 2019, more than 30 awards were given out over three categories during the awards ceremony.
