Camera shop SLR Revolution in Excelsior Shopping Centre has been identified as a Covid-19 cluster.

Fourth case linked to shop

In total, four cases have been linked to the shop so far.

The latest case is a 57-year-old Singaporean man, who is asymptomatic.

He was included in the Ministry of Health's (MOH) report on Sunday, Aug. 30 night.

He was confirmed as a case on Saturday, Aug. 29.

MOH said on Sunday it has identified and contacted 240 people so far.

In all, 224 people have been swabbed and their results are pending.

MOH is facilitating testing for the remaining individuals.

First employee Covid-19 positive

But the man was already on quarantine after his colleague, a 61-year-old Singaporean man, earlier tested positive on Aug. 20.

The first employee had gone to work during his infectious period.

Linked to woman, 65

He has been linked to a 65-year-old Singaporean woman who tested Covid-19 positive on Aug. 23.

Third person likely a customer

On Thursday, Aug. 27, MOH reported that a 31-year-old Singaporean woman tested positive after visiting SLR Revolution on Aug. 17.

She may have had contact with the 61-year-old employee.

MOH said it would contact and facilitate Covid-19 tests for everyone who had visited the camera shop between Aug. 15 and 18, as a precautionary measure.

Sequence of events

After the first employee tested positive, SLR Revolution wrote on Facebook on Aug. 20 that its Excelsior branch staff members were quarantined for 14 days.

The business updated on Aug. 25 that its Excelsior branch employees had tested negative for Covid-19 and they would not return to work until Sept. 1.Employees from its Jurong Point branch worked in the shop when it was reopened on Friday, Aug. 28.

The company then wrote on Facebook on late Sunday, Aug. 30 night that one of its Excelsior branch employees has tested positive for Covid-19.

The result came back after the employee -- the fourth case linked to the shop -- had undergone a second swab test and serology test before the end of the quarantine order.
