The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) will be sounding the Public Warning System (PWS) island-wide during this year's National Day.

The “All Clear” Signal will be sounded twice at 10:30 am and at 8:20 pm.

The first sounding at 10:30 am signals the Anthem Moment to rally all Singaporeans to sing the National Anthem.

The state flags will be raised concurrently across different locations in Singapore.

The second sounding at 8:20 pm signals the Pledge Moment.

It is meant to rally all Singaporeans to recite the National Pledge.

Each sounding will last for about 20 seconds.

The public is advised not to be alarmed.

The PWS is a network of sirens that the SCDF has placed at strategic points throughout the island.

The purpose of this system is to warn the public of imminent threats that could endanger lives and property.
