If you were watching cartoons during the late 90s, or early 2000s, you probably remember the Powerpuff Girls.

The series featured three superpowered girls, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, who fought crime in the city of Townsville.

It was wildly popular, even leading to a 2002 movie.

While some iterations of the show have come and gone, the original series ended its run in 2005.

Now, there are plans for a live-action remake.

Variety broke the news in an Aug. 24 article.

The series is currently under development at CW.

According to Variety, the live-action series will feature The Powerpuff Girls in a different point in their lives.

"In the updated version of the series, the titular superheroes are now disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?"
