Drive-in movie screening at Pasir Ris Downtown East on Aug. 8, 2020 cancelled

The Downtown East Drive-in Movie Screening event scheduled to take place on Aug. 8, 2020 has been cancelled.

The cancellation was announced on Aug. 3 by Downtown East.

No reasons were given except that it was due to unforeseen circumstances.

An email to the media said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unfortunately not able to proceed with the event, and seek your assistance to update your articles accordingly. We apologise for the cancellation."

Downtown East said it will be in touch with guests who have purchased tickets for the drive-in movie screening regarding the refund.

Those who purchased the tickets will also receive a $20 Downtown East voucher.

Background

The movie, The Greatest Showman, was scheduled to be shown at the outdoor screening at the car park.

Each ticket costs S$18 and was supposed to admit one car of up to five pax.

The ticket also includes two burgers and two Drinks from Ministry of Burgers.

Wait staff in roller skates are supposed to serve customers.

Audio for the movie was supposed to be played over a dedicated radio channel in each car.
